On July 4, 2025, JamiiAfrica convened a strategic roundtable bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders—including government oversight bodies, civil society organizations, media, academia, development partners, faith-based institutions, and private sector representatives—for an in-depth dialogue on preventing and combating corruption during elections.
The event featured dynamic, theme-based discussions on three key areas: centering citizens in anti-corruption efforts, strengthening accountability systems to safeguard electoral integrity, and building trust through enhanced transparency. These discussions resulted in a concrete, collective commitment by key actors to reinforce citizen-centred accountability and create a united, multi-sector front against corruption.
JamiiAfrica recognizes that strengthening democracy, especially in the lead-up to and during elections requires not only resilient institutions, but also the active, informed, and organized participation of all stakeholders. Our commitment is to nurture a vibrant democratic ecosystem in Tanzania, where citizens are informed, engaged, and empowered, and where institutions uphold transparency and responsiveness.
