JamiiAfrica Strengthens Partnerships with Zimbabwean Media Ecosystem at Annual Stakeholders Conference

On 12 November 2025, JamiiAfrica was invited by the Media Alliance of Zimbabwe (MAZ) to participate in Zimbabwe’s Annual Media Stakeholders Conference. The event brought together government institutions, media organizations, and development partners to discuss policy, implementation strategies, and the media’s role in national development. A key focus of the conference was validating the new Zimbabwe Media Policy and outlining implementation steps aligned with the country’s goal of achieving upper-middle-income status by 2030.

As JamiiAfrica prepares to expand into several African countries—including Zimbabwe—the conference provided an important opportunity to learn about the local media and digital ecosystem. This engagement builds on an earlier learning mission conducted in August 2025 by Executive Director Maxence Melo and Head of Programs Ziada Seukindo.

During the visit, the JamiiAfrica team also held additional meetings and interacted with young people in Zimbabwe to explore ways of creating safer digital spaces for citizens. The team expressed appreciation for the warm and welcoming environment and shared enthusiasm about introducing JamiiAfrica’s products in Shona, one of the country’s most widely spoken languages.

This engagement reflects JamiiAfrica’s commitment to building meaningful partnerships and strengthening collaboration across the region. The organization is undertaking an ambitious expansion across Africa—not only to broaden its geographic footprint but also to equip local communities with digital tools that support its mission of fostering an informed and empowered citizenry.

Such partnerships and engagements are essential to understanding the unique challenges and opportunities in each context. By working closely with local organizations, government bodies, and community leaders, JamiiAfrica aims to implement programs and initiatives that effectively address the specific needs of the populations it serves.
