Jamii Forums Unveils New Name (JamiiAfrica) and 2025 – 2030 Strategic Plan

Since it inception, Jamii Forums has championed open dialogue, transparency, and civic engagement in Tanzania. We have built a trusted community platform that empowers citizens, media, and civil society to engage in critical conversations shaping governance, accountability, and social progress. Over the past five years, we have further strengthened our organization around the pillars of transparency, credibility, resilience, and partnerships.

Our impact now extends beyond Tanzania’s borders. To reflect this expanded regional outlook, Jamii Forums is transitioning to a new identity—JamiiAfrica. This rebranding marks a strategic evolution of our vision and scope, emphasizing a Pan-African commitment to inclusive, safe, and vibrant digital civic spaces.

JamiiAfrica’s mission is to inform, engage and empower local communities across the region by fostering digital democracy, creating inclusive spaces for meaningful dialogue, encouraging active public participation in development agendas, and promoting more responsive governance.

JamiiAfrica will operate under six core values: Freedom of Expression, Respect, Credibility, Collaboration, Resilience, and Privacy, and our work will focus on four key intervention areas:

  1. Critical Digital Infrastructure Protection and Innovation
  2. Citizen and Media Empowerment (Digital Democracy)
  3. Multi-actor Collaboration for Governance and Accountability
  4. Strengthening Digital Resilience, Literacy, and Inclusion
