On 30 September 2026, JamiiAfrica had the pleasure of welcoming H.E. Ingrid Teresia Johansson, Ambassador-Designate of Sweden to Tanzania, and Ms. Sandra Diesel, Head of Development Cooperation, during a visit to the organization’s offices in Dar es Salaam.

The engagement also provided an important opportunity to strengthen the relationship between JamiiAfrica and Sweden and to explore areas for continued collaboration in support of JamiiAfrica’s Strategic Plan 2025–2030.

As JamiiAfrica advances the implementation of its five-year strategic plan, long-term partnerships with bilateral and multilateral development partners remain important to sustaining and scaling its work.

The visit reaffirmed the value of continued engagement between JamiiAfrica and Sweden in advancing shared priorities around democratic governance, civic participation, digital resilience, freedom of expression, accountability, and inclusive development.

In addition to Tanzania, the Ambassador-Designate will represent Sweden in Burundi, Comoros, Madagascar, Mozambique, Somalia, and the East African Community (EAC), providing an important regional dimension to Sweden’s diplomatic and development engagement.

JamiiAfrica looks forward to continued dialogue and opportunities to deepen collaboration with Sweden and other development partners in advancing a more inclusive, resilient, and accountable digital and civic environment in Tanzania and the wider region.
